Splatsin, the Regional District of North Okanagan, and Columbia Shuswap Regional District ownership partners were awarded the money as part of the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream funds provided by the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia, according to a press release issued by the trail association. Once completed, the trail will run from Sicamous to Enderby. The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail previously announced $250,000 had been secured from the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association in partnership with the Provincial Ministry of Tourism, bringing the total funding for the construction of the pilot section to $709,061.
