George s Restaurant in Fort Smith tentatively plans to open back up Thursday or Saturday after closing temporarily this week out of caution for a possible COVID-19 exposure.
Alex Catsavis, owner of the restaurant at 2120 Grand Ave., said Wednesday all employees had tested negative for COVID-19. Catsavis was waiting on confirmation from the Arkansas Department of Health Wednesday, but he expected to have the deep-clean and disinfection completed Wednesday.
The popular restaurant, which annually receives top honors in the Times Record Best of the Best readers poll, will be closed Friday for the New Year holiday. We just didn t want to take any chances by any means, Catsavis said. This is a problem for everything in business, especially restaurants.
