perhaps you can give us a sense of what the weather conditions would have been like that hour of the night. the last known position of where the faa lost contact with the aircraft itself which is right here. the little blue icon. here s where they were presumably going. that kind of approach is shooting basically down bristol bay, which is fed by the bering sea, and you have the aleutian mountains, and the alaska range here, and a couple of other ranges here. so it s tricky flying, i would imagine, to begin with, and on top of that, last night well, the winds weren t horrible. anywhere from 15 to 25 miles an hour. right now, similar to that if not a little stronger, but the big thing was we had rain and a fair amount of fog, so visibles were real bad and visibilities remain bad right now.
