The Specialized Criminal Court in Pezinok, Slovakia ruled on Friday that businessman Marian Kočner was not guilty of the 2018 murders of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancee Martina Kus.
Slovak tycoon Marián Kočner has been acquitted for his role in conspiring to murder journalist Ján Kuciak. Alena Zsuzsová, his associate, was found guilty of planning and ordering the crime.
The special corruption court ruled that it had not been proven Kocner committed the crime, though his assistant Zsuzsova was found guilty of organising the reporter’s murder, as well as planning hits on two prosecutors.
