Below are reflections from AgriProFocus Coordinator Meskerem Ritmeester, who organized the World Food Day event in Addis Abeba. “The current linear food system that is focused on productivity has supported a fast-growing population and fueled economic development. Yet, it has not eradicated different forms of malnutrition. In fact, after a period of decline, world hunger is on the rise again, trending with an aggressive increase in overweight and obesity.
