Personal data for ID cards of Belarusians to be kept in closed system

MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Personal data needed for the issuance of ID cards will be accumulated in a closed information system, Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Aleksei Begun told the ONT TV channel, BelTA informs.
According to Aleksei Begun, the accumulation of personal data that will be used in biometric documents does not require an Internet connection. “In other words, this is a closed information system, and only employees who have the corresponding keys will have access to it. And only these employees will be able to receive and process applications and forward them to the personalization center,” he said.
