Nebraska Fans React To The Luke McCaffrey News

Just a few months ago, Luke McCaffrey was going head-to-head with Adrian Martinez in Nebraska football’s quarterback competition. Fast forward to Tuesday, the young quarterback is opting to leave the program.
McCaffrey will be entering the NCAA transfer portal this off-season, according to multiple reports. The 6-foot-2 dual-threat quarterback spent two seasons at Nebraska.
McCaffrey gave Martinez quite the scare in the Huskers’ ongoing quarterback competition this past season. He even started two games and played in all seven games. McCaffrey finished the season with 466 passing and 364 rushing yards. He scored four total touchdowns. Turnovers were an issue for the former Nebraska quarterback, though, as he threw six interceptions compared to just one touchdown.

Brandin Cooks just can’t seem to find a permanent home in the NFL. He’s hoping Houston can be his final landing spot.
Cooks is a star when healthy, but that’s a big if. The Oregon State alum can’t seem to stay on the field for a full season, and he unfortunately gets traded a ton because of it.
Since the end of the 2016 season, Cooks has been dealt from the Saints to the Patriots to the Rams to the Texans. It’s been a long and frustrating journey, to say the least.
Buccaneers Are Reportedly Signing Veteran NFL Quarterback

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are signing a veteran quarterback to their practice squad as the regular-season soon comes to a close.
The Bucs already have three quarterbacks on the depth chart. Tom Brady, of course, leads the way. Blaine Gabbert serves as the backup with Ryan Griffin at third-string.
In this year of uncertainty, no team can have too many quarterbacks. The Buccaneers are adding another, just in case.
Tampa Bay has signed veteran quarterback Drew Stanton to the Bucs’ practice squad, per NFL reporter Peter Schrager. Stanton’s worked with Bruce Arians before from their time together in Arizona. He should provide some valuable experience on the practice squad as the Bucs ready for the postseason.

USC – one of college football’s most prestigious programs, regardless of the Pac-12’s recent irrelevance – has opted out of playing in a bowl game this postseason.
The Trojans were 5-0 heading into Friday night’s Pac-12 Championship Game versus Oregon. A win would’ve sent USC to a NY6 Bowl, most likely the Fiesta. But the Ducks spoiled USC’s perfect season with a stunning 31-24 win.
With a NY6 Bowl out of the picture, USC has called it quits on bowl season. The Trojans would’ve likely gone to the Alamo, had they’d accepted a bowl invite.
