An International Olympic Committee team of technical experts spent three days in Utah this week, touring 2002 Winter Games venues that backers of bringing the Olympics back to the state hope to use for the 2030 or 2034 Winter Games. The visit, off-limits to the media, is part of what a University of Utah professor said is an attempt by the IOC to avoid stoking opposition to the bid.
