WINCHENDON Are you looking for some exciting and unique experiences this summer? Then head over to the Beals Memorial Library as they wrap up their big Summer Reading Club with a few activities that are sure to be fun for everyone.
If your kids love arts and crafts, then join the library on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. for their Animal Mobile Craft activity. Participants will get to make a cute, jungle animal mobile they can hang up at home. Space is limited, so contact the library to reserve a spot.

The North Quabbin Trails Association will host an “easy, naturalist walk” for veterans and their guests on Saturday, March 20, 9:30 a.m., at Winchendon Community Park at Ingleside Drive. The Fireworks Galaxy is a face-on intermediate spiral galaxy with a small, bright nucleus, whose location in the sky straddles the boundary between the northern constellations of Cepheus and Cygnus. On Tuesday, March 23, at 7 p.m. via Zoom, Aldrich Astrophotography member Kevin Boucher will talk about how astronomy pictures of galaxies, nebula, and other night sky wonders are taken. Boucher will share all the obstacles that need to be overcome to create these beautiful pictures. The program is sponsored by the Athol Public Library and the Aldrich Astronomical Society.
