Hertsmere Borough Council has confirmed Conservative Ben Evans is no longer an Aldenham parish councillor. Mr Evans represented Aldenham West ward. A written request from ten electors in the parish ward must be received by the borough council by December 24 to trigger a by-election. Due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic and emergency legislation that has been passed, any by-election would not take place until May 6. Mr Evans is the second Conservative councillor to step down from Aldenham Parish Council in 2020. Garry Walton left the council earlier this year - a by-election to replace him has already been triggered and voters will go to the polls on May 6.
