Updated Jan 28, 2021;
HOLYOKE A lengthy Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke meeting Wednesday concluded with a fiery dialogue between trustees pushing for a larger new facility, while state officials warned that any delays in their plans for a smaller one could sink the entire project.
Gov. Charlie Baker recently authorized a “rapid plan” to build a new Soldiers’ Home after 76 veterans died during a COVID-19 outbreak last spring.
