Angolan engineer Alda Manuel has become the first representative of her country on the World Energy Council, which oversees policies in the energy transition sector. Manuel, a specialist in renewable energy, is an energy project manager and a member of the board of the Angolan Renewable Energy Association. She helped found EcoAngola, a sustainability promotion organisation. Manuel is involved in the German government-financed, Global Hydrogen Diplomacy (H2 diplo), and is developing a platform called Tchossi Academic to improve access to teaching materials on engineering and renewable energies. The World Energy Council was formed in 1923 and is a member-based network of energy professionals.
