Destroyed one home. Its 22 contained up from 10 earlier. More than a thousand firefighters are working to stop the fire from burning hundreds of homes. Cal fire is battling the fire from the air. We spent time with the pilot beween runs. Reporter visibility can be problematic as they drop water on the loma fire. 15 helicopters in their second day of water drops, and they are dealing with changing weather conditions. We got winds today, going to dramatically change the fire behavior for us, and also the humiditys low still. It affects the helicopter, too, flying, affecting how much water we can take and how much moving we can do up there. Reporter these are bambi buckets, a registered name of the Canadian Company who created them. The length of the line depends on the helicopter. Some have a line up to 200 feet, and others have a 200 foot line just because the wash is so severe, it keeps it out of the fire, making the fire worse. This time it was anything other than a tragic accident. It was a chaotic scene at the hoboken train terminal in new jersey after a speeding commuter train slammed right into the station during the middle of the morning commute. One woman who was standing on the platform was hit by flying debris and killed. 108 other people were hurt. This man was on board the train. It was a loud bang, yeah. It seemed like it didnt stop. And then, the lights went out. And then the roof just came down on it. So. The roof of hoboken crashed into the actual train. Reporter this train was coming into the station extremely fast when it struck a bumper block which sent the front car flying into the air. It flew about 40 feet before hitting a wall in the waiting room. First responderring raced to pull people from the wreckage. They pulled the windows out. They were helping to assist folks getting out of the windows. They were getting folks that could move off the train out of the train and getting them out of
The source with knowledge took carlos video and believes he identifies where the fire may have started in an area near loma taquita road where neighbors claim was an illegal marijuana operation. Theyre heavily armed. There has been shootings in the past. Sources say theyre concentrating on that spot. It appears to identify a hell pot grow. Theyre concerned about loud pops. Carlos thought it was the sound of trees exploding. I thought that makes sense. When you put a log on the fire, you hear it popping. It could be some type of ammunition. Reporter sources tell the iteam whether it was butane canisters exploding. Cal fire says the investigation into how it started is underway.
