Doris M. Lockley
WILLIAMSBURG God, in his magnificent power, dispatched his angels at 5:11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 14, to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital on a spiritual mission. The mission was to bring our beloved mother and grandma, Mrs. Doris M. Lockley, 79, to her heavenly home to be with Him.
She was born Oct. 6, 1941, daughter of the late Carrie and Sylvester Piggott Sr., in Williamsburg.
At an early age, she professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior, joining Shiloh Baptist Church. Later, she joined Mount Hope Apostolic Faith Church of God, Williamsburg, where she remained a faithful member until her demise. She was the president of the Missionaries, member of the Pastoral Treasurer Committee, choir member and served on the trustee board. Her faithful dedication to the Lord was unspeakable and uncanny. “Good and faithful servant, well done take your much-deserved rest.”
