(ABC 6 News) - Thursday was a special day in historic downtown Albert Lea.
Mayor Vern Rasmussen proclaimed it Happy Days in the city.
City leaders named a block of Waters street to honor Marion ross, who played the mom on the hit show Happy Days.
Marion Ross lived in Albert Lea in her early years before moving to the Twin Cities to follow her dream of acting.
A group of Albert Lea ns have been fundraising for two years and have raised over 85-thousand dollars and are still taking donations for the museum there. She has donated just endlessly, she s really taken our community theater under her wing and kept in good financial stead, and she has also done a huge amount of help for the museum as well, says Glen Parsons, Chair of Marion Ross Statue Committee.
