Published March 11, 2021 2:23pm Senator Richard Gordon on Thursday called on the Philippine National Police (PNP) to speed up its investigation into the series of raids in Calabarzon over the weekend that left nine activists killed and six others arrested. During the hearing of the Senate justice panel on the spate of killings in the country, Gordon stressed the need to immediately come up with the results of the investigation so as to allay the doubts of the public on what transpired during the bloody encounter. Justice remains elusive for slain mayors of Tanauan, Los Baños

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 11) Justice has not been served in the case of two slain mayors who were earlier linked to the illegal drug trade.
It s been nearly three years, and the death of Tanauan Mayor Antonio Halili is still unsolved. Iyong kaso po ni Mayor Halili ay considered na cold case kaya ito po ay naiturn over namin sa CIDG, Tanauan police officer Rommel Sandoval, who used to handle the case of the slain mayor, told a Senate hearing on Thursday.
[Translation: The case of Mayor Halili is considered a cold case so we turned it over to the CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group).]

+ February 25, 2021 AS the newly installed director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police, Police Brigadier General Albert Ignatius Ferro warned regional chiefs that they will be relieved of their posts if they fail to make an impact in their work.
Ferro is the former chief of the Police Regional Office 7. He was appointed CIDG director by Philippine National Police Chief General Debold Sinas.
In his new position, Ferro plans to:
• direct his personnel in the search of the most wanted criminals who are yet to be arrested,

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) killed a man wanted for murder in a raid that led to a shootout in Balabagan town of Lanao del Sur.
CIDG director Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro said the operation also resulted in the arrest of four people who were with slain suspect Sarao Mangadang when the arrest warrant was served on Thursday in Barangay Barurao.
Mangadang, who was tagged as the most wanted person of Balabagan town, was wanted for a case or murder. He and his companions allegedly fired at the raiding team which resulted in their death.
