$40M Albany training center expansion in final phase Completion expected sometime in June FacebookTwitterEmail ALBANY The $40 million expansion of the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision s Albany Training Academy on New Scotland Road is in its final phase and should be completed by the end of June, according to a spokeswoman for the agency. The project added classrooms and dormitory space, as well as a gymnasium, to the facility, which occupies the former Mater Christi Seminary that educated priests from 1954 through 1969. The state leased it from the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese in 1973 as a training center for corrections officers. The state DOCCS purchased the 35-acre site in 1987.
