SARTELL The Sartell-St. Stephen school board passed a motion Thursday night to enter into negotiations with Mounds View Assistant Superintendent Jeffery Ridlehoover to lead the Sartell district as superintendent.
The board selected Ridlehoover from three finalists including current Assistant Superintendent Kay Nelson and Albany Area Schools Superintendent Greg Johnson, who was interviewed on Thursday before the board s decision.
In their final deliberations Thursday night, board members said they were impressed with Ridlehoover s work closing achievement gaps and solving equity issues at Mounds View, two fields the board hopes to make strides in in the coming years.
During his final interview Monday, Ridlehoover answered questions from staff, students, community members and the board. He pointed to his work at Mounds View implementing individualized learning and taking a building-level approach to culture and climate as experience he could use at Sartell.

(KNSI) – The Sartell St. Stephen School Board has announced its new hire to replace outgoing Superintendent Jeff Schwiebert.
In a motion passed Thursday night, the board selected current Mounds View Superintendent Dr. Jeff Ridlehoover to lead the district going forward. District officials praised Ridlehoover’s closing the achievement gap and solving equity issues within the Mounds View district. Those are two areas the Sartell St. Stephen School District is hoping to improve.
Current District 748 Assistant Superintendent Kay Nelson and Albany Area Schools Superintendent Greg Johnson were also interviewed. The three were selected from a field of 18 candidates.
SARTELL If hired as superintendent of the Sartell-St. Stephen school district, current Mounds View Assistant Superintendent Jeffery Ridlehoover promises a focus on individualized education. I m pretty passionate about it, he said during his final interview with the school board, because I think it affects everything.
Ridlehoover is one of three finalists to replace outgoing Superintendent Jeff Schwiebert. He spent Monday meeting with district staff, attending a community listening session and a final interview with the school board.
He has over 20 years of experience in education, working as a principal and assistant superintendent at the Mounds View district since 2013, as an associate and assistant principal at the Wayzata and Anoka-Hennepin districts from 2003-2013 and as a science teacher in Champlin and Lakeville since 1999.
