The City of London has approved a new 33-storey tower in the Square Mile.
Hong Kong developer Tenacity, which had earlier declared the “era of the office not over” after winning planning permission for a nearby 30-storey tower at 70 Gracechurch Street last month, has now secured the green light for the building at 55 Gracechurch Street.
The newly approved scheme will be made up of three staggered elements as well as a retractable vehicular lift, which will be turned into public space by day. It has been designed by architect Kohn Pederson Fox and aims to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding rating through use of measures including living roofs, terrace planting and a green wall.
