temperatures so high it s killed several varieties of alaskan salmon and has done so in large numbers here. so cnn meteorologist allison chinchar talking about why this is so about why this is as to significant. yes, it has a huge impact on the wildlife and sea life specifically. so yes, when the salmon come in for the mass yes, when the this isn t because they died off recently, this started at the beginning of the migration several weeks ago when water temperatures were about 70 degrees. that may not sound all that bad to us, but they rely on those temperatures being closer to the 60-degree mark. that ten-degree difference is enough to trigger heatstroke in these salmon. in the short term we re talking they estimate about 1,000 of these salmon were part of this die-off. the full migration was around close to two million.
