The Alaska Legislature approved all but one of Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s picks for state boards and commissions in a once-per-year joint session of the state House and Senate on Tuesday.
The bill aims to address the high costs of health care by allowing Alaska medical providers to offer patients direct agreements that set a monthly fee in exchange for certain services.
The Alaska Legislature on Tuesday rejected one of Governor Mike Dunleavy's nominees for the University of Alaska's Board of Regents. The Alaska Beacon said that the rejected person was Bethany Marcum, who is the former head of the Alaska Policy Forum, a nonprofit that promotes conservative policies.
