EAST BROOKFIELD - A North Brookfield man who allegedly brandished two realistic-looking airsoft guns at a car wash near his home Monday evening did so in the name of chivalry, according to court documents.
Shawn L. Courville, 53, of 317 North Main St., North Brookfield, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly caused panic in the community, Assistant District Attorney Alanna Burlas said during his arraignment in Western Worcester District Court Tuesday.
The victim in the case, who is 19, said in an interview Tuesday that he was at the car wash with his girlfriend using the vacuums to tidy up her vehicle when a man came out of his house holding what he believed was a pistol.
