Ware selectmen and school board to convene Saturday morning to discuss cooperative communications

WARE – At a special meeting scheduled for Saturday morning the school committee and selectmen plan to meet jointly at town hall, and try to figure out ways to improve strained relations between the two boards.
When the school department first posted the meeting agenda on Monday, it simply stated: “Meet to discuss recent issues.”
The district did not respond to a request asking what the “recent issues” might be about.
Contacted on Tuesday, Board of Selectmen Chairman Alan Whitney said there has been a breakdown in communications and it is hoped that by sitting down together there would be an improved working relationship between the two boards.
