There are times when even I think I am guilty of piling on black people, especially when I remind myself that some of my nicest neighbors are members of a black family.
But thereâs the rub. There are many decent, hard-working, tax-paying black people. But put them in a group and they suddenly reflect the lowest common denominator. It certainly doesnât help their overall image that 95% of them will vote for any dope on the ballot so long as they spot a (D) after his or her name.
From my point of view, I feel called upon to balance the coverage because in spite of their record number of murders, assaults and abortions, blacks have somehow become Americaâs sacred cows. Let a white politician even question the work habits of black students, and his career is finished. Once tarred as a racist, even his family will disown him.

The whole idea of âthe endâ is a quaint and virtually meaningless one these days, given the endless stream of TV reboots, spinoffs, and sequels.
Two current cases in point: âL.A. Lawâ and âNight Court.â Both were hits decades ago, and both are apparently being given new life.
L.A. Law sequel with Blair Underwood is on ABC s docket Maureen Lee Lenker
Court is back in session.
ABC confirmed to EW that a sequel to beloved legal drama
L.A. Law is in development at the network with star Blair Underwood poised to return.
Venerable law firm Mckenzie Brackman reinvents itself as a litigation firm specializing in high profile, boundary-pushing, incendiary cases. Underwood reprises his roles as attorney Jonathan Rollins, who has evolved from his idealistic roots to a more conservative point-of-view. Rollins will clash with millennial JJ Freeman as they fight to decide the best path forward for the firm to effect political and legal change.
