It was a moment Jase Bowen had been waiting for all his life. The Northwood resident and 2019 Central Catholic High School graduate was certain his name would be called during one of the three days of this year’s Major League Baseball Draft held June 3-5.
Former Eastwood quarterback Lake Boos and Cardinal Stritch quarterback Thomas Foust led the Gold to a 30-7 win over Black at Perrysburg’s 31st Annual Northwest Ohio Regional All-Star Football Game at Steinecker Stadium’s Widdell Field.
Eastwood 6-1, 182-pound senior quarterback Lake Boos got his chance to be a quarterback this year, and he made the best of it. Boos, a Division V second team All-Ohio selection, is the Alan Miller Jewelers All-Press Offensive Player of the Year.

Sports Illustrated’s SI Jinx or the so-called Madden Curse, Moten’s season was not ruined because of it quite the contrary. An Associated Press Division VI honorable mention All-Ohioan, Moten can add Alan Miller Jewelers All-Press Offensive Player of the Year to his accolades.
