Pereda was named 2020-21 Venezuelan Winter League Rookie of the Year on Saturday.
The Venezuela native went 45-for-133 (.338) with a .421 on-base percentage, .421 slugging percentage, .842 OPS, one home run, eight doubles, 16 RBIs and 16 runs in 39 games (153 plate appearances) for Caracas.
He also threw out 6-of-13 base stealers (46%). He started 22 games at catcher and 14 games at first base.

Jarren Duran started the week hot, going 4 for 9 with four runs, a double, and four RBI over the first two games of the week. After struggling to start the season, those two games raised his average to .289. However, Duran again struggled after his return from the two-day Christmas break, going 0 for 7 over the weekend with four strikeouts and two walks. His season average returned to .250 to start the week, but his on-base percentage remains strong at .405.
