Among those targeted are businessmen, a politician, former Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell and innocent families along with victims of mistaken identity.
The attackers often strike in the early hours while their targets are asleep risking lives and stoking fear with their intimidation tactics.
Detectives are examining whether any of the incidents are linked, while experts believe some could be “payback” ploys with others potentially the work of copycats.
