As La Crosse braces for up to eight inches of snow, The Salvation Army and Gundersen Health System are providing aid to keep the unsheltered population warm and address their medical needs. While The Salvation Army s beds are currently full, they continue to distribute winter essentials. Gundersen is also caring for individuals who suffered from frostbite last year. Despite the upcoming storm, the City of La Crosse is not planning to open emergency day shelters.
