Nowhere to go – three of the girls interviewed by the Oxford Mail, left to right, Desni, Pat and Susan Parents through the ages have no doubt heard the same cry from their offspring – “we’re bored, there’s nothing to do”. Five “miserable teenagers” wrote to the Oxford Mail in 1966: “Please take this seriously as it is a protest not just from the five of us but many other teenagers who feel the same way about Oxford as us – it’s DEAD!!!” They were all girls of 17 and 18.
