Suspect in Green Level murder arrested in Florida
The suspect in an August murder was arrested Saturday in Florida, said Byron Tucker with the Alamance CounSheriff s Office.
Lloyd Carvon Gillis Jr., 29, of Burlington, was arrested by the Volusia County, Florida Sheriff s Office on a first degree murder charge.
Deputies say just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, Christopher Tyrick Gattis, 24, of Green Level, N.C. was shot as he tried to leave a home in the 2200 block of James Boswell Road. He later died of his injuries.
The Sheriff s Office identified Gillis as a suspect in the murder, and authorities have been searching for him since mid-October.
