Payment for street parking in Selangor to go cashless starting Jan 1, 2022

Street parking fee using coin machines or scratch and display coupons will end on Dec 31,2021. Selangor local government, public transport and new village development committee chairman Ng Sze Han said the cashless transaction creates convenience. “The Smart Selangor Parking mobile app introduced through Selangor government’s business arm Selangor Smart Delivery Unit (SSDU) in 2018 has seen a gradual acceptance among motorists. “In 2018, there were 300,000 users while the following year it increased to 800,000 users. As of March this year, we have 1.5 million users who pay for the parking via their smartphones, ” he added. Currently, 10 local councils in Selangor use the app except for Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor.
