and we have and will produce additional evidence that shows otherwise. are you saying that thousands of americans participated in a fraud? i am saying that thousands of americans have some role in it knowing laer unknowingly. it was essentially a bloodless coup where they took over the presidency of the united states without a single shot being fired. reporter: smartmatic and dominion voting have both filed multibillion dollar defamation lawsuits against powell and others. those lawsuits are moving forward in court despite efforts to are them dismissed. this interview was sydney powell s chance to safe save face. what do you have in your case? you have a bunch of dodgy affidavits that don t add up. you have a bunch of people with dubious credentials. that s your characterization. that s all your characterization. so far you ve provide no evidence. you might as well be working for dominion and smartmatic.
are you truly almost unique, but truly in the small minority we ve seen? i think a majority of republicans whether public laer or privately here agree that we do not want to be defined by those kinds of chants. we believe our policies are starting to speak for themselves specifically in the areas of opportunity zones, criminal justice reforms. we want to make sure we are doing things for that message to cut through and not get caught up on the chants that have been offensive to many in our minority communities for decades. as a former minister who s worked in the inner cities and you were talking about my wife who s a two time graduate, when those people put their trust in you to go to washington and do the right thing or speak out about the right thing, i think that s something we need to do. if you re saying that most republicans feel they don t want to be defined by this, why
we know that. we re playing his game. that s what bothers me. i got to talk to about your book, reporter. absolutely. tell bus it. what can you say? i ve been a reporter for 50 years. i started as a police reporter in chicago. i got famous i guess very early for doing the massacre story and i was i guess the l ranger. some reviewer called me the lone wolf. but i went after a story that most of the major media did not go after. i worked at the the new york times for many years and one of the problems i had, i loved it s a love/hate, respect/laer anger relationship. there was an enormous amount of respect for the presidency. even next ixon, it was very har cut through in the early days of watergate. we talked so long and went back and forth. i m just going to tell everybody to buy your book.
he will be indicted. i think any laer has to assume an indictment based on what jeffrey haid. you don t search lawyers offices unless you re ready to indict. what he gets indicted for, who knows. the most interesting thing if he were indicted for something that related directly to president trump. there s no indication that s in the offing, but i do think any lawyer should assume who takes the case that he s representing a client who will either be indicted or will cooperate. and the idea of sending a message to the president, kind of hoping for some sort of a pardon, again, we don t know if he s going to be charged or what he would be charged with, but you have been very kind of negative on the notion, som have pointed to, well, the state s attorney cring charges against michael cohen even if michael cohen is pardoned. you think that s unlikely. i think it s very unlikely. the attorney general of new york is not set up as a criminal prof they don t have the resources. they don t hav
