New service offers front-porch compost pickup in Huntsville area

Chickens get together on a mound of compost at the farm headquarters of Huntsville Compost, a new company aimed at increasing composting in Huntsville, Ala. The company s original business, which continues, is providing organically grown, pesticide-free food to restaurants and individuals.

A new company - Huntsville Compost – will pick up compost off front porches and give participants credit toward products at its organic farm store.
The new company already lists more than two-dozen Huntsville partners including Downtown Huntsville Inc., restaurants, breweries and organizations such as the Alabama Sustainable Agricultural Network.
