Alabamians might soon be able to get wine in the mail.  The Alabama Senate on Thursday approved legislation that would allow direct delivery of wine to state residents on a 27 to 0 vote. There was no debate on the measure. The House of Representatives concurred in the bill 88 to 5 Thursday, evening, sending it to Gov. Kay Ivey.

The Alabama Senate Thursday approved a General Fund budget with pay raises for state employees; mostly level funding, and very little debate.  The biggest difference I can tell you between this year budget and last year’s budget is: not much, said Sen. Greg Albritton, R-Atmore. The House late on Thursday voted to send the bill to conference committee. House Ways and Means Committee chair Steve Clouse, R-Ozark, said that there were unspecified issues with the budget, though he said they were not earth-shattering.

Alabama Senate Approves Sanctuary State Measure

After a certain lawmaker stabbed gun owners in the back, I’m not holding my breath for anything of the sort anytime soon, either. Yet, our neighbor to the west–a state we’ve long made the but of oh-so-many jokes–is shaping up to do what Georgia seems to have no interest in accomplishing. That’s right. Alabama is setting itself up to become another sanctuary state. The Alabama Senate Thursday passed the Alabama Second Amendment Protection Act. Senate Bill 358 is sponsored by Sen. Gerald Allen, R-Northport.
