produced this result tonight? my guess is, the money dries up. you mean the guy who lost a republican race in alabama doesn t get any more money? he s picked a lot of losers. but he was part of trump s coalition. so i think you ve got this world of trump closing in, and you ve got this world of the establishment republicans on very thin ice. there isn t a resolution. and for those establishment republicans, do they breathe a sigh of relief right now at this moment with steve bannon at least down for these few hours, the fact that his candidate did not win? i think they have exchanged one problem for another. yes, they might have dodged a bullet of roy moore, but they have to effectively legislate and push through this agenda and make sure that there is a republican party that is there remaining come 2020. if there is a washout in 2018, they could conceivably lose the house and the senate. and the momentum at this point,
supporting roy moore, but he has little to no influence. does this come down to the president needs to look at what he s doing? i think he got burned in the primary and the general. he took mitch mcconnell s advice in the primary, got behind luther strange, instead of mo brooks, who was probably the strongest candidate. and steve bannon gave him the advice to get behind him in the general election, and that didn t work out either. so look, trump follows when trump follows his own instincts, i think he s better off. when he s taking advice from the bannon wing, sometimes they lead him down the wrong path. but this is a president who says only his opinion matters. he has the instincts, he knows what he s doing and doesn t listen to other people. i think he s likely to double down on that after tonight. this is a president who does
welcome back. we ve got more from the alabama exit polls coming up in just a minute. polls are still opened for about two-and-a-half hours. there and the only thing we know for sure is that nothing is for sure in this race. i ll be supporting roy moore, basically, because to put it bluntly, i don t believe the allegations. i don t feel there is enough proof. hmm, definitely fought rnot roy moore.3f.: i think that should be obvious. it s not apparently. normally i don t vote democratic this time around i think it will be that for me. a lot of people my age are kind of embarrassed that roy moore is alabama s person right now. it doesn t make our state very good. i think the people of alabama doesn t like people letting them in their business.
now. we chatted with kellyanne conway at the white house. we asked her. the white house has put out official statements. if these are true he should step aside. we haven t heard a whole lot from president trump as far as weighing in on roy moore. should he? no, we haven t. those numbers are significant. first of all, alabama doesn t elect democrats to the senate. the last democratic senator from the deep red state, who left in 1997. we re talking 20 years ago. it would be a big deal because the republican majority in the senate, if doug jones comes in and takes what was the jeff sessions seat is that the majority for republicans in the senate would go from two votes, 52, to one, 51 and just to take an example, for instance, you aren t going to be finished with tax reform in the house and the senate. we re talking about the senate
the allegations didn t hurt. i m not sure that s the case. here s the fact of the matter. there is now probably about the same amount of time between roy moore between the allegations coming out about moore and the access hollywood tape. it will be interesting to see. it has been a steady story coming out. roy moore is no donald trump. that indicates what hannity said is that they are hoping that alabama doesn t have to say what they want alabama voters to do. just get rid of this guy. that s a big possibility. they might not. i was in the philadelphia suburbs after access hollywood came out and every woman said they didn t care about it. you know what, it was a different climate. everybody stick with us. we have a big vote in the house on taxes in the next hour. stay with us. when you ve got.
