Wasa promises no water shortage in Ramazan National April 5, 2021 Rawalpindi: Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Sunday said that there would be no water shortage in Ramazan as the agency had taken special measures to ensure uninterrupted supply to its consumers. Talking to this agency, he said that 524 tube wells and 160 filtration plants during the month of Ramazan would be operational without any interruption and a special cell had been established to deal with emergency complaints, he added. He warned any negligence and laxity at the part of water section staff both in office and at tubewells would not be tolerated. He urged the consumers to register Water Complaint Sections located at Liaquat Bagh, Shamsabad, Commercial Market, Khayban-e-Sir Syed, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Chak Jalal Din, Dhama Syedan and Al Noor Colony.

Woman paralysed after wrong C-section dies in Jhang

National December 28, 2020 JHANG: A woman who was completely paralysed after a wrong C-section conducted by a lady doctor two years ago died here on Sunday. Reportedly, the deceased was waiting for justice from the Punjab Health authorities for the last two years. According to the inquiry report of the district health officer (No1512/E), Farhat Bibi of Al-Noor Colony was shifted to a private hospital for delivery. However, no qualified surgeon or doctor was available for the support of lady doctor/owner of the hospital during surgical procedure of the woman. As a result of alleged mismanaged surgical procedure, the woman delivered a baby girl but was paralysed completely. Later, she was shifted to the DHQ Hospital but she was further referred to some hospital due to her critical condition.
