Terror Funding Case: NIA questions top religious preacher in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Jun 7: The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday questioned the head of Kashmir’s largest Islamic seminary Moulana Rehmatullah Mir Qasmi, in an alleged terror funding case, sources said. Qasmi, the Rector of the famous Islamic seminary Darul Aloom Raheemiya, was summoned by NIA in a case related to alleged funding activities of Al Huda

SRINAGAR: In a significant development, Maulana Rehmatullah Qasmi, the Rector of the renowned Islamic seminary Darul Aloom Reheemiya, has been summoned by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

NIA summons Rehmatullah Qasmi for investigation

The summons comes in connection with an ongoing investigation into the alleged “funding activities” of the Al Huda Education Trust.

House of Moulana was earlier raided in October 2022

Moulana is associated with the Al Huda Education Trust (AHET) which is an offshoot of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami. AHET was allegedly collecting funds to finance terror groups.
