we re watching all of it very closely as you might imagine. i m harris faulkner and you are in the faulkner focus . doctors have been saying they are keeping queen elizabeth medically comfortable at balmoral castle in scotland. buckingham palace says they re concerned for her health. yesterday the queen canceled a virtual meeting with her private counsel and she was also described as looking frail at an event earlier this week. in fact, many people since that event have talked about how frail she looked. a lot of loss of weight. they were concerned and not necessarily doctors. senior foreign affairs correspondent greg palkot is live for us in london. greg with the latest. it s safe to say the u.k., perhaps many around the world, are holding its breath maybe saying a few prayers this amongst the troubling news about the health of queen elizabeth ii, the 96-year-old sovereign of this country. we got world from the royal household following further evaluation by doctors there
successful economically now and that s what she is facing. harris: she is going against the headwind of actual progress and success. difficult for anybody who runs against an incumbent. there is a little bit of the al gore effect going on with her as well. why didn t she meet the plane with the president? his low poll numbers wouldn t help but at this point if there were any bully pulpit the white house could throw behind her maybe they would do it. she shunned him. we re still two months away from the election & kemp is leading in many of the polls. many of them show still within the margin of error. i think doug is right that stacey abrams has become the key figure in georgia. she is the most vilified by republicans. she is who led that successful campaign for senator warnock, biden winning in 2020. so she set is ground work. i think there is a level of
that boston watches, hey, boston, you got to get romney and ryan together every day between now and the convention. they look better together. they re more energized together. talk about running the numbers together too. don t be sarcastic. they do it. it is the bill clinton/al gore effect as chris mathews said yesterday, he was dead on. get those two together. because they both make each other look better. but there s the alternative, which is cover more ground and so they re trying to figure that out now. not if they re going to do it badly. not covering ground in august. when you roll out your new vp, it s a national campaign to make sure he doesn t get quailed or palined and you get the two together, don t you? chris was dead on yesterday. the odd thing is, just viewing the campaign thus far, romney is a far better performer, far more confident performer, when paul ryan is alongside him. sure is. great with paul ryan. it s unusual to watch.
reid is struck at 40%, 41% job approval rates in nevada. and 56 of the people that we surveyed there told us that they thought president obama s agenda was bad for the state s economy. this is a good example of the al gore effect, you have a candidate who is not present appearing with someone else who is not popular, president obama and they are rushing out as opposed to what he has been doing to this point, kaoeplg a low proceed trial and bombarding sharron angle with ads. jenna: you ve talked about democratic enthusiasm coming up. we ve seen that in the pew research poll we just referenced. some say president obama is really helping here on the campaign trail. are we too quick to judge whether or not harry reid can really make a come back here by staying in the spotlight while
