According to the National High Electoral Commission (HNEC), as of July 23, 2,430,470 eligible voters have registered for Libya’s elections.
According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the registration percentage was about 50.23 per cent of the total number of Libyan nationals eligible for registration.
It said that fresh voter registration has risen by 90,374 people as of July 23, up from 68,244 on July 22.
Emad Al-Din Al-Sayeh, the head of the HNEC, is slated to go to Rome next Sunday to engage in discussions that may be crucial in saving the Libyan elections planned for December 24.
