Dubai: COVID-19 vaccination centres across the city, operated by Dubai Health Authority (DHA) will take a break during Eid Al Fitr public holidays, the DHA has tweeted.
Authorities have announced public and private sector workers would enjoy an Eid Al Fitr public holiday from Ramadan 29 (May 11) to Shawwal 3 (May 15).
COVID-19 testing centres at Al Badaa Health Centre, Al Khawaneej Health Centre and the Dubai Municipality Health Centre will operate as usual while hospitals and health centres run by DHA will continue to operate round the clock.
3-day break
DHA has announced the vaccination centres at One Central, Al Barsha Hall, and Dialysis Centre in Al Twar, will be closed for three days from May 12 (Wednesday) until May 14 (Friday). They will reopen on Sunday (May 16) and operating hours will be from 8am-7.30pm Sunday to Thursday and 4pm-8pm on Friday and Saturday.

The country s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 11.18 million. This takes the rate of doses to 113.10 per 100 people.

The Dubai Health Authority s (DHA) Covid-19 vaccination centres will be closed from May 12 to 14 to mark Eid Al Fitr. The centres include One Central, Al Barsha Hall and Dialysis Centre at Al Twar.
The DHA s Covid-19 assessment centres in Al Badaa, Al Khawaneej and the Dubai Municipality will function 24/7.
DHA hospitals
Hospitals and health centres will work as per shift timings and medical practitioners will be on call to ensure work continues as usual. The emergency departments of all DHA hospitals will be functional around the clock.
Vaccination centres will remain open through the Eid holiday, he said.
Anyone over the age of 75 should go to the nearest vaccination centre and did not need to book in advance, Dr Abdulaali said.
More than 10.5 million vaccine doses have been administered in the country of about 30 million people.
Saudi Arabia reported 942 Covid-19 infections and 13 deaths from the virus on Sunday.
“There is fluctuation in the coronavirus curve in Saudi Arabia and we hope it will decline as it did in the past,” Dr Al Abdulaali said.
The Interior Ministry said there had been 25,672 breaches of the country’s precautionary measures over the past seven days.
