Dubai: Massive hailstorms and rainfall have lashed different parts of Saudi Arabia with thick hails seen completely covering the desert sand in Hail city and Asir region. Social media users have shared photos and videos showing the stunning view of the heavy hails and floods in Mecca, Al Aqiq, Taif, and several other parts of the Kingdom. A twitter user shared a video in Asir showing hailstones covering vast areas of sand while a camel was seen walking on a white landscape in the desert. Al-Baha governor inspects King Saud Airport development

AL-BAHA: Al-Baha Gov. Prince Hussam bin Saud bin Abdul Aziz on Wednesday inspected the King Saud Airport project in Al-Aqiq governorate. Prince Hussam viewed the designs and plans for the project, which has an area of 198,565 square meters and is estimated to cost more than SR367 million ($98 million). Sultan Al-Ahmari, project director for the southern region of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said that the passenger terminal will cover 20,310 square meters, while aircraft parking and connecting roads will cover 485,919 square meters. External parking will accommodate 645 cars, he added. The project is due to completed on May 24, 2022. The airport will be able to handle 1 million passengers annually, and will have four passenger bridges, five gates for domestic departures and two gates for international departures.
