+ A 19-year-old girl has slashed the throat of her day-old baby in Atenkrom, a village near Akyem Etwereso in the Eastern Region. The teenager whose name was given as Patience alias Mommie, self-delivered a baby boy last Friday dawn but claimed parts of the baby looked like an animal. According to a witness, Nana Owusu, Patience took the baby into a nearby bush and slit its throat with a kitchen knife. She then dumped the corpse in a cocoa farm and returned home. When asked about the child by her uncle and elders of the village, Patience refused to disclose his location.
