A guest star on
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the crew to be quarantined as a precaution. According to Deadline, the Paramount+ production will not be impacted as the guest, who had come over from Vancouver, had not made it onto the set. They’d only come in contact with a few members of the show’s crew during a fitting when they were notified of their positive test result.
CBS studios provide a rigorous testing procedure as part of COVID-19 protocols to keep their sets safe. Contact tracing was implemented and only affected close contacts to the person who tested positive. No one else has tested positive at this time. Due to the limited exposure, the series shoot will continue as planned. However, Toronto and all of Ontario are currently in the midst of a one-month lockdown as a surge of COVID-19 cases has impacted the area.
