Senate suspends plenary to mourn Reps member, Hassan-Kila Published The Senate on Tuesday adjourned its plenary to Wednesday in honour of a member of the House of Representatives, Yuguda Hassan-Kila, who died about five days ago. At the commencement of the Tuesday plenary, the Senate Leader moved a motion that the Senate suspends all legislative activities in honour of the deceased. Earlier, the Senate observed a minute silence in honour of the late member of the House of Representatives. Mr Hassan-Kila until his death, represented Gwaram Federal Constituency of Jigawa State in the House. He was a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and was serving in the House of Representatives for the second time.

Share Members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ondo State engaged themselves in a free-for-all fight in Akure, the state capital, causing pandemonium as they used dangerous weapons to fight themselves. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning when some members of the factional group of the union invaded the Old Garage area of Akure and started shooting sporadically, killing a member of the union with two others injured. The incident happened barely 48 hours after the factional group of the union clashed at Owode area of the state, injuring many people. It was gathered that the drivers were fighting over management of parks even after the Ondo State government had ordered the suspension of driver’s unions activities in the state for two weeks.

Gunmen reportedly invade Benue Community, kill scores

Daily Post Nigeria Published Unknown gunmen on Tuesday morning reportedly invaded Tor-Donga, an area in Katsina-Ala Local Government of Benue State, killing scores while many were left injured. DAILY POST gathered that there was tension in the community as both farming and other economic activities in the area came to an abrupt halt. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Anene Sewuese Catherine told our correspondent that the command was yet to receive the report. “I have received several calls on that but the command can’t confirm it now. We are yet to get the report”, she said.
