LAST week, the Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria embarked on a strike action that led to a blockade of foodstuffs from the north to the south.
Though the Department of State Security, DSS, summoned the President of the association for questioning, the decision to prevent food from coming to the south drew the ire of many southerners.

At a press conference held at the Labour House, General Secretary of the Union, Ahmed Alaramma, kicked against alleged suppression of their members and task force put in place to enforce the strike action on the major roads.

Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – Suspected Fulani herdsmen killed three farmers Saturday night in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, according to Sahara Reporters.
“Yes, it’s true, three people were killed, the place is becoming like Zamfara…” said senior special assistant to the Governor on agriculture, Akin Olotu, “It’s obvious these bandits are ready for war.”
The attack comes in the wake of several massacres Jihadist Fulani have committed just this month, adding onto the decades of violence Christian farmers have suffered at the hands of killer herdsmen. While the media continues to portray such violence as back-and-forth exchanges between herders and farmers with no real religious motives, researchers are increasingly revealing an extremist agenda.

Hoodlums suspected to be herdsmen on Saturday night launched an attack on farmers at Ijugbere Village in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, killing three farmers during the attack.
The herdsmen reportedly invaded the farm around 7 pm on Saturday and descended on the farmers in the farm, killing three of the farmers while others ran away from the farm.
The attack, which came barely 24 hours after the men of Amotekun, flushed the armed herdsmen out of the forest in the axis.
A source disclosed that the herdsmen had earlier visited the farms and the villages around the forest warning them against visiting their farms.
