Siparia nurse attacked with hammer is out of hospital Siparia nurse Jada Pierre
JADA Pierre – the 22-year-old Siparia nurse who was beaten on the head with a hammer – has been discharged from hospital and is resting at home.
She told police that last Friday, an ex-boyfriend hit her several times with a hammer after she refused to reconcile with him.
Gerron Akiba Matthews of New City, Fyzabad, has since been charged and remains in custody after being denied bail.
Pierre had several scans and surgery at the San Fernando General Hospital. She had several fractures and lacerations to the head, but no brain injuries.

JADA Pierre – the 22-year-old Siparia nurse who was beaten on the head with a hammer – did not suffer any brain injuries from the attack and is recovering well.
A geriatric nurse from Bali Hosein Trace, she was found with severe head injuries in the forest reserve in Fyzabad last Friday. She had several fractures and lacerations to the head and has since had surgery.
When investigators interviewed Pierre last week, she said her ex-boyfriend hit her several times on the head after refusing to reconcile.
Gerron Akiba Matthews, 26, of New City, Fyzabad, has since been charged with wounding Pierre with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm. He was denied bail. He has previous convictions for gun-related offences.
