The movie which ruled our hearts
‘Bunty aur Babli’(2005) is up for its sequel. Not only our hearts, but Bunty aur Babli was an absolute trendsetter in terms of fashion.
Babli - the bubbly girl played by Rani Mukerji won our hearts with her unique taste in fashion of ‘bright collared kurta/kurtis with striped colorful bottom salwar & a contrast dupatta or no dupatta paired with a colorful belted jhola’.
With this distinct sense of styling, Aki Narula- the Costume Designer for Bunty aur Babli set a vastly popular trend. The fashion designer explained in an interview that it was the character’s demand for the witty, colorful clothes.

Hansal Mehta in its 2.0 avatar has usually made serious films like SHAHID [2013], CITYLIGHTS [2014], ALIGARH [2015], OMERTA [2018] etc. He did try a black comedy in between with SIMRAN [2017] but it was forgettable. His most recent venture, the celebrated web series, SCAM 1992, too was a no-nonsense affair. But now, Hansal Mehta switches to a light-hearted zone with CHHALAANG. The trailer promises entertainment and also some amount of thrill. So does Hansal Mehta succeed in acing this genre with CHHALAANG? Or does he fail to deliver? Let’s analyse.
