Around 60,000 people have been forced from their homes in North Eastern syria, on the second day of a major air and ground assault by turkish forces. Thereve been several civilian deaths. Turkeys president claims at least a hundred kurdish fighters have been killed. They are long time American Allies in the fight against the extremist group, the so called Islamic State, but the turks regard them as terrorists. Turkey is trying to push back the kurds and seize land just inside the syrian border, to create what it calls a safe zone to resettle some of the millions of Syrian Refugees who sought shelter in turkey during eight years of war. Our International Correspondent 0rla guerin sent this from near the border. She has just lost one of her legs in an attack that killed her 12 year old brother.
