Zunheboto, March 12 (MExN): A one-day farmer’s training programme on ‘Promotion of Vegetable Cultivation for Livelihood Security’ was held at Sutemi village on March 8 with the aim of encouraging and promoting vegetable cultivation among farmers.
Dimapur, Nov. 22 (EMN): The Alumni Association of Akuluto Government High School (AAAGHS) organised a free medical camp at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Akuluto, under Zunheboto district on November 19. The medical camp was supported by Medical department headed by Dr. K Vikato Kinny, principal director of Health and Family Welfare, who is also an alumnus of AAAGHS (batch of 1978). An update from the association informed that 21 doctors along with officials and technicians from the directorate in Kohima, doctors from District Hospital of Zunheboto and Mokochung conducted the camp. The doctors included medicine specialist, gynecologist, dentists, ENT specialist, orthopedic, physiotherapist, psychologist, surgeon, anesthetist, ophthalmologist and audiologist, who were supported by doctor and nurses of PHC, Akuluto. The APC said this after launching the vocational course on agri and allied sector on Monday at Living Bible College, Ayinato, in Niuland district, the first theological college in Nagaland to introduce the vocational course. Sema said the course is important because in Nagaland there is no scope for other industries except in agri and allied sector, but the people have been neglecting the sector. “Agriculture is important sector but we have failed,” he said. He said the state annually imports meat and meat products worth approximately INR 1,259 crore. But, even the meat imported is not of good quality, he said. Dimapur, Sep. 1 (EMN): Government High School (GHS) in Medziphema town initiated a pre-vocational field trip for students from class 6 to 8 to SASRD, NU, Medziphema campus, on August 31. An update from the school informed that the programme was in line with the guidelines of NEP 2020 and as per directives from the Samagra Shiksha, government of Nagaland. The main objective of the field trip was to introduce pre-vocational education and exposure of the students to the world outside the class room to create awareness on the various productive activities, develop expertise in one particular skill and prepare the students to identify their interests before they attain high school, it stated.
