The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents multi-faceted singer/songwriter A.J. Croce in concert with his band in Castle Theater Sunday, May 19 at 7:30 pm. The concert is in celebration of two of his father Jim Croce’s legendary albums, “Life and Times” and “I Got A Name” in addition to songs from “You Don’t Mess Around With Jim.” He and the band will also share some of A.J’s own tunes and songs that influenced both him and his father.
A.J. Croce drew 'em in with the promise of playing the beloved songs of his dad, Jim Croce. And he delivered on that promise last night at Bayou Music Center in Houston. But, the crowd also was treated to a heavy dose of diverse music from the last half of the 20th century as Croce explored the music that informed his career and his dad's.
Like anyone pursuing a career, A.J. Croce wanted to forge his own path to success. As a musician and the son of the great American songwriter Jim Croce, that meant staking his own claim in the family business of music. With a successful 30-year career now, Croce has leaned into his late dad's music, bringing beloved songs to life for audiences everywhere with Croce Plays Croce. The tour hits Houston's Bayou Music Center Sunday, December 10.
